The Residential Solid Waste Collection and Bulk Rate Charge Policy is in place to provide our citizens with efficient, responsive, and cost-effective yard and household waste collection services. It also serves to ensure that like services are provided to all residents.
YARD WASTE
Leaves | All leaves must be separated from any limbs, trash or any other items, and placed in piles at the curb. No leaves or limbs are to be bagged as trash or placed in cans at any time. |
Limbs & Brush |
Only pick up normal yard maintenance. Nothing picked-up larger than 3 inches in diameter. All brush must be laid out parallel and cut end to cut end. Nothing longer than 4 feet. Major tree cutting is the property owner’s responsibility to get rid of debris. Private companies doing the work are responsible for removal. |
Grass Clippings | Clippings must be placed in plastic garbage bags and placed at curbside and separated from other yard waste, household trash or other items. Clippings or bagged clippings are not to be placed into trash cans. |
Limits of Pickup:
The Town of Denton will not be responsible for items which cannot be readily loaded by two laborers, and each residence shall be limited to a maximum of four cubic yards of yard waste per pickup. It is the property owner’s responsibility to dispose of amounts exceeding these limits.
HOUSEHOLD WASTE
The Town of Denton will collect household waste, including but not limited to white goods (appliances), furniture, and other similar bulk items. The Town of Denton will not accept batteries, oil, tires, paint and paint thinner, solid waste, gasoline, antifreeze, stumps, building materials, construction debris, rocks or bricks.
